On the Fence?

Our economy is really dragging down people's optimism!  Maybe you thought about retiring to Florida in the sunshine.  Maybe you have parents who live in Florida and want to move closer to them.  Maybe you just want a lifestyle that affords year round outdoor activity.  Maybe you just want to get out of the cold.

Whatever your reason is, your plans may have been put on hold due to the downturn each and every one of us is feeling.

I have some positive thoughts that might help you decide that now is the time to accomplish your goal and find that home in Florida.

First, if you have a home to sell and you know you will not get the price you were hoping to get had you sold two years ago, realize that you will make up that loss in the new home you purchase.  Here in Florida prices have been slashed.  You do not need a home as large as you may have now because so much of your living will be outside.

Second, we are in a deflation period economically and will, no doubt in not too distant a time, turn to inflation.  In a deflation we have the lowest interest rates ever.  When inflation begins, and we all know it will, interest rates will go up.

Third, right now we have low, low interest rates, an $8,000 first time home buyer's tax credit--up from $7,500 and this will not have to be paid back--and prices in Florida reflecting the affordable days of home ownership.

So, come on down off that fence and make a move to Florida.  The lifestyle alone will be tremendously rewarding not to mention how much you can save on taxes for a lower priced home and a low-interest mortgage.
